Nothing special here mate, I spray on a solution of CT18 (or15 ) and water, let it sit for a minute, rinse off, then hand wash with a sponge and car wash/wax, Meguires I think. Then just chamois off. When it needs it a polish and occasional detail. Having chrome rims makes life a lot easier.

just spray on some truck wash and water mix,let it stand for a couple of mins and wash off with lots of elbow grease ,a couple of beers. give it a shine when dry and we are ready for the road again.

Tal if u have black rims u have no problems a lot of harley riders use spray and wipe on every thing, if u have alloy rims (polished)
than i would get the rotten things powder coated.

My rims are powder coated silver. Windex and a paper towel make them look new in a couple minutes!

Use mukoff but motomuk from Repco is cheaper.Hose your bike ,spray on motor muk leave f or a few minutes, longer if really dirty...hose off and dry with microfibre cloth, easy and bike looks like new then spray with with CRC syntex synthetic oil for a protective coating. Great stuff spray on lightly ,wipe off.

LOL,

Wet bike
wash bike with micro fiber glove
Hose bike off
dry bike with heated and filtered air blaster
Maguire's quick compound
Maguire's quick polish
NXT 2000 wax

Polish any chrome.

WD40 for anything black pretty much, engine and so forth, give it that new look and shine (not allot)

done for another couple three months. Spray detail for anything in between.

I agree with edmontonstorm except CRC syntex synthetic oil is a better alternative to wd40.
Check it out..and no I don't have shares in CRC

I give mine a quick wash with some decent soap, scrub with a microcloth and hose all the soapy water off.

Then I get out my lawn blower and blow all the water off. Then I get Mr Sheen out, give the bike a quick spray and wipe it all off with another microcloth.

I use a non acidic motorcycle wash preparation called SDoc100. Don't use MucOff it has a higher acidity level which could harm finishes. It's the doused with filtered rain water, blow dried, chamoised and polished. I tend to go for non powdering resin polishes with microfibre cloths. I also use Mr Sheen for the occasional wipe over ... the Triumph dealer always uses it.

It's much easier to just buy a harley, clean it once then park it at a biker bar and look at it while you get soused. If you can find a biker bar within a mile of home you'll only need to clean it once every couple years or so. Plus as an added bonus it'll only have a few hundred miles a year on it and retain max resale. And you thought those beer bellied harley guys were stupid !

I give the painted surfaces a quick rinse to get the dust off.
Then using my own pre-mix in a (spray bottle) of water, kero and soap and give it a good coating and leave it for 5-10 minutes.
Give it a soapy wash.
Rinse then dry with a large micro fibre towel.
Then a quick ride to get the water out.
Back home and a further dry.
If I've got time then polish.
Wd40 over the engine and a wipe over.

Then a cheeky smoke while I look at her!

I accidentally got some carnauba wax on one of the Matte Grey side covers, and you know when I buffed it, it looked kind of nice. Gave it a burnished glow instead of the non-reflective flat color. I'm considering doing the rest of the painted pieces. It would protect the paint better too, no?

On a side note about cleaning, theres a product issue has become a real sore sopt with me in recent years. I have gone thru a stupid amount of products trying to find what works best and over the years i have found several that i felt were fantastic. But every god damn one has changed thier formula and ruined it. Just recently happened with my top 2 fav products withing the last couple month. Maxima SC-1 and liquid performance spray/cleaner. SC-1 was incredible. You had to use it just like the instructions and spray it on then wait about 30 seconds before you wipe it into the surface. It thickens up when it hits the air and works a lot better then if you don't let it sit for 30 seconds before wiping it. It left a coating that looked like you just sprayed several clear coats on and covered up the spider webbing so the paint looked like it did in the showroom but glossier. Then about 2 months ago i buy a new can and it's changed and no longer near as good. I was pissed. this was the second time since i been using it they changed it and the last time it literally turned into a totally different product, tho great in a new way. But it no longer worked for what i used the initial formula for, the satin back parts like engine and frame. Now it's ok but no longer the incredible product it was.

Then theres liquid performance spray cleaner. This stuff was more of a spray wax kinda solution but it did also clean. It came out in a thick waxy form that was almost like a cream. It was great on all surfaces. I used that stuff for years and loved it. Bought a new can a few weeks ago and the can said new and improved. I saw that and i just knew it was gonna be bad. Sure enough, now it comes out in a watery foam that smells and works completely different. Not anything like it was.

I may keep using SC-1 probably because while near not as good it's at least ok. As for the liquid performance, i am so done with that worthless crap. There are other brands that copy the same formula (pre "new and improved") but all vary a bit. But i'll try some of those and hopefully find one thats very close or as good.

Ok Guys and Girls "Don't Shoot the Fn Messenger"

BUT I always thought Shit those Bloody Harley have good chrome and shit on them. and now I know why. It's all in the cleaning products and here are a couple of "Bloody Beauties" the only down side is Ya Gotta go into the Harley Shop to get them.

They are both really easy to use and do a fantastic job.
The one on the left is "Spray Clean and Polish" approx. A$15 I think,it sort of foams up a little bit and then sorts of disappears into a clear liquid.and it just wipes on anything ( either Paint or Chrome) and then wipes off. Use a Microfiber Cloth for both applying and removing.

The one on the right is "Engine Brightener" A$24 and like wise it also works brilliantly. Just spray it over the whole engine including the Chrome bits and then wipe the excess off. The Storm owners will jerk off when they get their hands on this shit. I know one bloke from up North of Brisbane that just about did his whole bike when a mate offered him some to try.

Give em a try you will be EXTREMLY surprised.

I've never ever found anything that could do a better job than Original Bike Spirits ( Link ). I wipe all metal and painted surfaces down with this before putting my TBird away and I've only ever needed to give it a bath once, after a long trip in the rain. My rims still look like new.

I have some of that. It's similar to the iiquid performance i mentioned but i'm sure you'd find the LP better before they changed it. It's one of those similar products i mentioned, but LP beat them all till they changed it. Now i think i like may that OBS crap better even tho it's not near as good as the old LP. But like i said there are a number of copycat products and i'm hooping to find another thats just like LP used to be. I bet that harley stuff GerPa mentioned is one of the LP copycats i mentioned because like LP and OBS it too is called "spray cleaner polish" as are all the copycats. Whether it's the exact same formula as old LP remains to be seen, but i'm not paying $15 for it. I'll pass on principal alone. LP was (and still is) 1/2 that. Besides, from GerPa's description (foams up a bit) it sounds like the new LP formula. The old one came out in more of a cream than light foam like the new stuff.

I reckon your right Daz,and if ya did a bit of investigation in your country I bet you would find they are all made by the one manufacturer and just packaged for the individual distributors under "Their brand name" The HD stuff also has that Orange Fruit scent about it when you spray it" and You can bet Ya last dollar that if it's got HD on it in Oz then it came from over your place. As the Aussies would only import it and double the price.
